personality:
Natalia is a complex girl. In the face of most people, she is simply a polite and respectful, albeit distant and somewhat intimidating student who has no problem whatsoever being frank with her opinions when they are required. She appears to be an average teenage girl. There is, however, more to her than that. Though she does her best to appear civil before her friends and acquaintances, she remains severely critical and distrustful of the world around her on the inside.
Due to her cynical views, she tries to distance herself from others for the sole purpose of protecting herself from them. This way, outsiders have no way of entering her own little world where she is in complete safety in all her solitude. This way, there is no chance that she can be disappointed by people that have garnered her trust and care.
She is afraid of being let down by people and so does not allow herself to forge bonds with them. Any signs of friendship or attachment displayed are purely superficial on her part. To be frank, at times she could fittingly be described as one very unstable, unpredictable, misanthropic (to an extent), intimidating and extremely unnerving little girl.
However, the only exception to this rule of hers would be her elder brother, with whom she has an almost worrying obsession. Just being in his presence is enough to dissolve her constraint and compel her to focus any and all attention on him, which in turn causes him to be nervous and uncomfortable around her, to the point that he almost seems scared. She has no hesitation in becoming suddenly hostile towards the people that she deems a threat toward him, or even the people that are close to him that she fears will attempt to take him away from her. She will go to great lengths to capture his attention, though she is rarely successful in captivating him in the way she wishes. He never looks at her the way she wants him to. the thought alone is enough to drive her to a rage.
She claims outwardly with pride that she is deeply in love with her brother. However, she is in no way stupid and she is well aware that a lot of people deem her a psychopath with a personality disorder. She is also well aware that this is not entirely untrue. Some part of her wonders where her obsession with her brother comes from, and what it could be classified as; because this voice of reason deep within her is conscious enough of her condition to realise that the feelings she is trying to force out from her sibling are too nonexistent to actually surface, and furthermore it realises that she would not be happy with the kind of relationship she has deluded herself into believing that she will share with her brother, should he someday choose to reciprocate her feelings.
Perhaps it is simply a cry out for attention, for somebody - anybody - to take hold of her in their arms and comfort her. To love her.
Though every other part of her finds these thoughts to be frightening and confusing, and so she rarely acknowledges the fact that they exist and does nothing to reach out to others in an attempt to help herself. Simply continuing with her current way of living is the easy option, and she would much rather go with that.
When it comes to her elder sister, Natalia behaves much more customary. She treats her sister very much so the way she would treat anyone else unimportant to her, albeit with more compassion and understanding. They are family, after all. however, there is always a looming sense of awkwardness around her as Natalia seems to be under the impression that she poses some sort of threat; as their brother was always so much more affectionate towards her. In a nutshell, she sees her sister as a rival.
Despite all this which has served to build up her infamous reputation throughout the school, she is not unable to be social with her fellow students if it is necessary. In situations that call for it, she very much appears to be a normal girl with normal feelings, able to hold conversations about normal topics with normal people. However, it is almost as if she is never fully focused on the people and tasks she should be focusing on, as if some part of her is constantly thousands of miles away.
background story:
Though she was born in Belarus and thus still considers her true nationality to be Belarusian, Natalia was raised in Russia alongside her siblings, or rather - by her siblings. Her mother died while giving birth to her, and though she doesn’t remember much of him, her father left soon afterwards. Of course, she was far too young to even begin to comprehend the situation this had put her family in, with nobody to take care of them but themselves, so the burden was settled squarely on the shoulders of her older brother and sister.
What they had to live off was not much, and as such she often fell prey to sickness when she was younger. Still, they managed to survive, if barely. Being so frail, she was entirely dependant on her brother and sister as she grew up, so much that she developed and unconditional attachment to them. She thrived on their attention, and if she didn’t get her way, she knew just how to manipulate them into giving in to her.
She was still a child of a very young age when the war truly started to make an impact on the country and on her living conditions. Her brother left to join the army. She and her sister were alone for a good part of their days now, and nothing could be done about it. Natalia didn’t understand. She wanted her brother. She needed him there, and she would not calm until he came back to her.
She would scream and cry and generally make things as hard for her sister as was possible. Not that she really had any idea what she was doing. Perhaps if she were a little more mature and knew the scale of the events that were occurring, and how they were affecting the family, she might have shut her mouth and done everything to help her sister in helping to stay alive as well they could. But she didn’t.
When she finally realised that her brother was gone for good, until this wretched war was ended, Natalia became a lot less hostile and a lot more introverted. She seemed to mature a great deal in the few years that passed, and suddenly came face to face with the cold hard reality of what her world was. She hated it. Hated it for taking her brother away. Hated it for making her sister and herself endure such suffering. She hated, hated, hated it.
Still, there was nothing that could be done. They simply had to make do until the day their brother came back home - wherever home was - and provided the solution to all their problems. They hoped and prayed for that day to come.
That day did not come.
Even after the wretched war came to an end, and Natalia was already half way through her teens, her brother did not return. She refused to accept the likely prospect that he had died, so instead she assumed that he had run away from them, unable to bear living the way they had been any longer. Natalia blamed herself. It was her fault that her beloved brother was not returning. Everything around her was reminding her of this fact that she had fabricated from thin air. She couldn’t stand this. Had to get out of here. Somewhere, anywhere.
So one day, she simply stood up and left. She left her sister a note, explaining the situation, but did not bother to wait around and bid her a proper farewell.
She travelled across the country, having enough knowledge on how to keep herself alive on the account of lived her life this way for as long as she could remember. She’d never been alone, however. It was a strange sensation, though not unwelcome. She liked the sense of freedom and solitude.
Until she was snapped up and adopted by a wealthy foreign aristocrat one day, purely by chance. Natalia couldn’t believe it. It was far, far too good to be true. This couldn’t be happening to her. There was nothing special about her at all, and she didn’t even know this man. Still, this was an offer she couldn’t refuse, not in a million years. Anything was better than the way she was living now.
And so she allowed herself to be taken to his manor in France, where she was fed and groomed and dressed well, given her own personal maids and butlers, generally treated like a princess. Something was wrong. Very, very wrong, and Natalia could sense this. This was just far too convenient. There had to be a catch, something. She lived in paranoia for well over half a year of discovering this ‘catch’, until one night it finally arrived.
The master of the house raped her. As simple as that; it just happened, with no warning. She couldn’t even bring herself to resist in her shock, though afterwards she was made well aware of the consequences that would befall her was she to mouth off to anyone about the incident. She knew better than to disobey his orders, and so continued on in a normal fashion she’d grown accustomed to.
The sexual harassment became a regular occurrence. Apparently, this had been the entire reason he’d adopted her in the first place. Of course, she knew it. There was nothing special about her at all, it made perfect sense that he only wanted her to use her body. The knowledge honestly made Natalia’s heart ache. She learned to hate herself for what she was.
Then, one day when Natalia was seventeen, the master grew tired of his plaything and decided to get rid of her just as easily and quickly he’d acquired her. He couldn’t simply cast her away, however; that would look bad. So instead, he sent her to a boarding school named Fond De L'Etang where she would stay out of his way.
( Oh my GOD this is such utter crap. There’s probably a point where it just stops making sense but I really just wanted to get it over and done with shdafhfjkgf sorry ;u; )
extras:
- She always carries around a porcelain doll named ‘Vanya’ that she would have conversations with in the place of her brother while he was away fighting in the war.
- She also always makes sure to have some sort of knife with her, for protection or otherwise, though she usually favours scissors since they are easy to conceal.

The ceremony had already begun and the students were all filed neatly in rows of seating when a young girl with long platinum hair has sidled in as silently as she could, trying to attract as little attention as possible. She had originally planned on skipping the gathering and attempting to entice her brother to follow her lead, but figured that not showing up on the first day would not do her any favours in trying to survive in this school for another year.
Natalia sighed, unable to spot any empty seats in the back few rows, so instead took to leaning against the wall beside the doors she had come in from. She twiddled with a strand of her hair absentmindedly, not paying much attention to what was being said. What did it matter anyway? Vaguely, she wondered where in the hall her siblings were seated, as she had failed to pick them out from the sea of heads on her way in.
She remained inattentive until she seemed to pick up something about teams, and competition. Oh? What was this? Suddenly finding herself a lot more interested in the subject at hand, Natalia stared at Principal Rome as he made his speech intensely.
A small smirk crept its way onto her rosy lips, and she found her heart rate increasing at the thought of an all out war between the students. Honestly, what kind of a school was this? Still, she wasn’t objecting to the idea. Anything that would help her become closer to her brother…
“Female. Belarus,” she heard the Principal booming out her name, breaking her away from her train of thought. “Codename: Wedding Veil.” It was almost hard not to laugh at the irony. The name was fitting, to say the least. It most definitely described a certain side of her very well, something which she was pleased the teachers seemed to have picked up on. She had heard other ‘codenames’ that were simply mortifying, so was contended with what she had been assigned.
She walked swiftly down the parting of the rows of seating, eyes kept intently on the microphone ahead of her. Completely ignoring the Principal, she took her place before the mic and scanned her audience for a few seconds before speaking softly, and clearly. “I will be joining the Allies, thank you.” And with that, she was returning to her place by the entrance to the hall, satisfied with her decision. Especially since her brother had joined that specific team.
Natalia smiled happily to herself, humming almost inaudibly to herself as she walked. Maybe this year was going to be less disheartening than she had suspected.
