He likes to be left alone to his own devices and will not seek out company unless it is for a specific reason. He has long learned that the school is not a place were many people follow what he was taught along time ago and he has accepted that but prefers not to associate himself with those who don't agree with him. When he first arrived in France he stuck to his own language very stubbornly and was forced to take extra French and English classes at the school resulting in sometimes he isn't very good at expressing himself. He is very easily frustrated and will turn violent on occasion though this does not happen often. He doesn't like it at the school but it is better then being forced into a foreign foster family he thinks.
background story
He was orphaned when he was little, or at least that is what he was told. His first memories are of being taken care of in a government run facility. Surrounded by government workers and more likely then not soldiers. He was put in a foster family but it wasn't really a family. He was never called 'son' and he never called them 'parents'. His foster father was a soldier for war and instead of sending him to school sent him to what he called 'training for life'.
So at an early age it was the norm for him to be molding his daily routine into one of a boot camp attendee. He learned the diligence, cleanliness, and loyalty of the soldier's he grew up around. So naturally he believed whole heartedly in the ideals they taught him, in the reasons for the war, and that it was his job to do the same someday for his country. He had no idea of even the life outside of the army bases, let alone the state of the rest of the world.
When the war ended and he was abruptly taken away from his regulated life he struggled against the allies who seemed to take pity on him, sense he was still technically a child at the time. He was already an orphan when it all started and now he was being removed from the only life he knew again. He never knew what became of his foster parents and for all of his emotion couldn't bring himself to miss them as anything more then he would miss a tutor.
Taken from his country and put into France as a sort of 'citizen of war' he was put up for adoption again, but no one wanted the young teen who spoke German and gave steely stares to anyone different them him. He became too much trouble for the adoption agencies to handle and it was decided that he would be put into the Fond De L'etang School. It seemed like the best place to keep him out of their hair, after all it seemed the boy just couldn't be reformed from what the German soldiers had taught him.
There it is less that he goes looking for trouble and more that when trouble does find him it leads him to the worst places.
Extras
(I hope I did ok with the history and such, I was trying to put in something with his country sense it was a big part of the war and he is usually a serious/non-troublemaker type but I wanted to make him relevant to the school yet not be like ooc. Hope that makes sense.)
RP sample
Ludwig liked to read, he didn't get to do it very often before he came to school and he still had trouble with some of the more advanced English books but he enjoyed it none the less. He leafed through a book he had taken from the classroom trying to decide of it deserved his attention or not. The cover had looked interesting enough and he had deciphered the title but he was still debating over it.
He was currently sitting outside in the school grounds, away from any commotion other students might be making. He didn't want to associate with them and he was pretty sure a majority had figured out that they didn't want to associate with him either. Which suited him fine, he didn't require their attention to thrive. He had yet to find anyone here that was truly worth his time to talk to anyways.
He flipped through to the end of the book in his hands. He read the last few sentences. It was a happy ending of some sort, that much was clear. He closed the book with a quiet thud and set in on the grass beside him. He wasn't very fond of happy endings, they weren't realistic. He would return the book to the classroom tomorrow and no one would even know he had touched it.
Stretching out on the grass he leaned back on his palms and looked up at the sky, enjoying his peace while it lasted.
